Ember of Halden
★★★★★ 4.7
Ember of Halden is the kind of RPG that respects your time. Battles are turn-based and quick, but the party-building has real depth — every character learns from a small skill web instead of a bloated tree, so you're always making choices that matter.
The story is surprisingly grounded for a phone game. You're not saving the world, just trying to bring one small town back to life, and the writing keeps things personal. Everything saves locally and the whole campaign runs offline, which is rare for something this narrative-heavy.
My only complaint is that inventory management gets fiddly on smaller screens. Otherwise this is one of the best offline RPGs I've played on a phone in years.

- Snappy turn-based combat
- Meaningful skill choices
